Marcela is a Registered and Chartered UK Trade Mark Attorney. She became a Trainee Trade Mark Attorney at Marks & Clerk in 2019 and qualified as a UK Trade Mark Attorney in 2022. She was awarded a Distinction from Bournemouth University in the Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property in 2021, and a Commendation from Nottingham Trent University in 2022.
Marcela is also a Brazilian qualified lawyer having graduated with a First Class Honours Degree at the Mackenzie Presbyterian University in São Paulo. She also passed the Brazilian Bar Association Examination in 2014.
Marcela acquired significant knowledge in Intellectual Property during her undergraduate years whilst working at the Intellectual Property team of a large multinational company in the food industry headquartered in Brazil.
Marcela is actively involved with the Entertainment & Creative Industries sector group within Marks & Clerk and assists clients from a wide range of industry sectors with the prosecution and enforcement of their trade marks, including trade mark disputes, assignment of intellectual property rights, trade mark clearance searches, filing strategies and the management and expansion of trade marks portfolio in the UK and overseas.
