Janice is a Registered and Chartered Trade Mark Attorney (UK) and advises clients in relation to both contentious and non-contentious trade mark matters, including portfolio management, trade mark prosecution, clearance searching and trade mark oppositions and cancellation actions. She has substantial experience of managing global trade mark portfolios, including the filing and prosecution of trade applications worldwide and the recordal assignments and licences worldwide.
Janice works with a broad range of national and international clients in a variety of sectors, including food and beverages, retail and fashion, software, pharmaceuticals and financial services.
Janice joined Marks & Clerk in 2007, having previously gained experience in another patent and trade mark firm. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys and won the Institute’s John Parker Memorial Award and Peter FitzGibbon Memorial Award in 2003.
Janice obtained an honours degree in modern languages at the University of Glasgow and is proficient in French and German, with a working knowledge of Spanish and Swedish.
Janice has been recognised as a “rising star” by Managing Intellectual Property IP STARS 2018 and as a “notable practitioner” by Managing Intellectual Property IP STARS 2020.
