Alistair's practice spans a range disciplines including electronics, semiconductors, computer implemented inventions and mechanical engineering. Before joining Marks & Clerk in 2015, Alistair worked as an embedded systems architect, developing microcontrollers and software for a broad range of applications including automotive, imaging and communications. He has 14 years’ experience in the microelectronics and semiconductors industry, working across Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US.
Alistair graduated with a first class MEng in Electronics & Electrical Engineering from the University of Glasgow where he specialised in optoelectronics and laser physics. His master’s thesis was “Resonant Tunnelling and Far-Field Measurements of Quantum Cascade Lasers”.
Alistair is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Patent Attorney (UK) and a European Patent Attorney. He has presented at several international conferences, authored many papers and he is a prolific innovator with 34 granted patents.
