Shannon has over 15 years of expertise with brand and design protection. Her practice includes Canadian trademark prosecution, opposition and cancellation proceedings, as well as Industrial Design work. She advises clients in a range of industries, including the automotive, electronics, and chemical industries.
Shannon became a registered Trademark Agent in 2006, receiving the Educational Foundation Prize from the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada ("IPIC") for achieving the highest mark on the Trademark Agency Qualifying Examinations. She is currently a member of the INTA Bulletins Committee and the IPIC Trademark Committee. Shannon also was newly ranked in the 2024 World Trademark 1000 rankings as a leading trademark professional for prosecution and strategy in Canada.
Shannon graduated from Laurentian University in 2001 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and subsequently pursued a degree in Education from the University of Ottawa. Upon graduating magna cum laude in 2002, Shannon joined Marks & Clerk.
