Robert is an Associate/Barrister and Solicitor with Marks & Clerk Canada. His practice focuses on trademark portfolio management, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and licensing and transactions. He also practices in the areas of copyright and digital media, as well as regulatory, advertising and marketing law.
Robert brings a wide range of trademark experience. Robert has clerked, specializing in trademark portfolio management, at boutique IP firms in Canada and overseas for over a decade. He has extensive prior experience in management of large trademark portfolios, having been involved in securing and managing IP rights for well-known Canadian businesses in the food, fashion and asset management sectors. As a result of his years of trademark experience, Robert is able to navigate complex trademark matters, and distill them to their essence, providing clients with incisive and practical advice.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University. Robert is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Queensland. Robert has recently received a Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation for the completion of his Canadian equivalency examinations.
Outside of the office, Robert has his hands full raising two active young sons. Robert is actively involved in community sports being a member and former coach of an Ontario AFL Australian Rules Football Club.
