Angus is a patent attorney specialising in the pharmaceutical area but also has extensive experience in a range of other technical fields including bleach detergents, polymer chemistry, ceramics, battery technology, biotechnology, and food processing. In addition to drafting and prosecuting patent applications worldwide, he represents clients in opposition and appeal proceedings before the European Patent Office. He has also filed a number of Supplementary Protection Certificates, as well as providing clients with advice on searching and filing strategies, and opinions on patent infringement and validity.
Angus graduated from Cambridge University with an honours degree in Natural Sciences (Biochem). He qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 1995 in private practice, before joining Marks & Clerk in 1997. Following 20 years as a Partner, Angus moved to his current role in August 2023.
