Ed is a UK and European patent attorney with experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in fields including electronics, software, AI, telecommunications, cryptography, cybersecurity, power electronics, and quantum technology, as well as advising on infringement and validity issues. Ed has represented a variety of clients in the UK and overseas, and they are experienced in prosecuting patent applications including the UK, Europe, the US, and China. Ed joined Marks & Clerk in 2021 after completing a PhD in physics at the University of Cambridge, with their research focussing on optical lattice experiments using ultracold atoms. Ed qualified as a UK and European patent attorney in 2024.
