Fiona is a Registered Malaysian Patent Agent, Trademark and Industrial Design Agent and has been with Marks & Clerk since the Malaysian office opened in 2009.

She has over 15 years of experience in Intellectual Property (IP) having joined the industry in 2004 and has worked with some of the top IP Firms in the country. She presently handles patent and industrial design work including patent drafting, patent searches, providing freedom to operate and patentability opinions, and preparing, filing and prosecuting Malaysian and overseas patent and design applications.

She specializes in mechanical and pharmaceutical innovations and has worked with closely with institutions such as IIUM, UMK, USM, BiotechCorp, Genting and Petronas. She also provides advice, workshops and seminars as a value added service to existing clients and when requested by interested parties.   

She holds a BSc (Hons) BioIndustry degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia and began her career as a Food Technologist with a local food manufacturing company before moving to the world of Intellectual Property.

Fiona is fluent in English, Malay, Bidayuh and Iban.

She is also a member of the Malaysian Intellectual Property Association (MIPA) and attends meetings of the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA).
