Dave specialises in the field of engineering advising clients on all aspects of IP, from protection through to enforcement and strategic management of third party IP risks.

Dave has vast experience in many engineering disciplines, including oil and gas technologies, telecommunications, the aerospace industry, medical imaging and touch sensitive displays. He represents clients before the Patent Appeals Board of the Canadian Patent Office, and also has significant experience in multi-jurisdictional due diligence, including the preparation of patentability, freedom-to-operate and validity opinions, performing due diligence in commercial transactions involving IP assets, and providing technical support in litigation matters.

Dave was born and educated in Canada, obtaining a bachelor’s of science degree in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario.

Dave has been recognised as a leading patent practitioner and has been recommended in the IAM Patent1000 guide 2015 to 2018.
