Eric has acquired experience in patents in virtually all technical fields. His particular areas of expertise include electronics, telecommunications, computer hardware and software, internet-related inventions, business methods, mechanical and electro-mechanical inventions, power hand-tools, electric motors, switches, circuit breakers, audio and video apparatus, printer ink systems, household appliance, toys, automotive systems, combustion engines and basic chemistry.
Eric graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering in 1985 and joined Marks & Clerk the same year. He qualified as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney in 1995, becoming one of the earliest local bi-lingual Chinese to be admitted as a Fellow to the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents. Eric is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Trade Mark Practitioners, the Asian Patent Attorneys Association, and the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Society. Eric became a partner in the firm of Marks & Clerk in 1995. He is listed as an expert by Who’s Who Legal.
