Mitch is a Chartered (UK) and European Patent Attorney with an engineering focus.
Mitch has particular experience in the fields of turbomachinery, manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, continuous inkjet printers, tires, sensing systems, consumer goods and general mechanical engineering.
He has experience of drafting and prosecuting applications before the UK and European Patent Offices. Mitch’s practice also includes prosecuting applications across a wide range of Patent Offices throughout the world, and particularly in the US, China and India. Mitch also has experience of Oppositions and Appeals before the EPO.
Mitch also has experience of supporting early-stage projects through to commercialisation, including: invention harvesting; advising on freedom-to-operate; and coordinating multi-case filing series.
He joined Marks & Clerk in 2015 after graduating from the University of Southampton with a first class honours Masters in Mechanical Engineering. During university, Mitch worked for innovation and consultancy firm Cambridge Consultants Ltd (in the Medical Technology division), and undertook an internship in Manufacturing Engineering at Rolls-Royce plc (in the Rotatives department).
Mitch dual qualified as a Chartered (UK) and European Patent Attorney in 2019.
