Wai Han is a Singapore Registered Patent Attorney. Through her years of experience working with clients, she has gained an acute understanding to identify and protect intellectual assets, particularly in the area of patents.
She specializes in the technical domains of biology and chemical engineering, cell biology, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, as well as mechanical systems and medical devices, and has in depth knowledge to strategise and obtain patent protection in many countries over the world.
Prior to joining Marks & Clerk Singapore in 2019, Wai Han worked at another intellectual property firm in Singapore focusing on drafting and prosecution of U.S. patent applications as well as managing Intellectual Property (IP) portfolio for various foreign and local clients.
Wai Han holds a BSc honours degree in Applied Biology with Biotechnology. During her studies, she was involved in a microbial toxin research project. Before entering the patent profession, Wai Han worked as a microscopy specialist at a national research institute where she gained knowledge and experience on optical microscopy and image processing as well as cellular and molecular mechanobiology.
