Jack's patent work focuses on physics, electronics and engineering based technologies. He specialises in the drafting and prosecution of patent applications throughout the world, and advising on patent infringement and validity issues.

He has also been involved in patent litigation in the UK. He has experience in a wide range of technological fields including analogue electronics, power tools, metal detectors, subterranean drilling, automotive and aeronautical components and control systems, optical components, liquid crystalline materials, environmental sensors, and lithographic systems.

Jack handles registered UK design prosecution, validity and infringement. He advises on unregistered design right and copyright matters. Jack is also a Unified Patent Court representative.

Prior to joining Marks & Clerk, Jack worked for QinetiQ, a defence technology company, as a research scientist in the fields of radar and optics.

Jack graduated from the University of Manchester in 2006 with a first class honours degree in Physics; his thesis concerned research into semiconductor nanoparticle sensitised photorefractive polymers.
