Elina is registered as a Malaysian Patent Agent, having joined Marks & Clerk in 2021.

She has over 15 years of experience in Intellectual Property (IP) having joined the industry in 2003. She participated in the Patent Expert Training organized by the Japanese Patent Office in 2010 and completed the South East Asian Drafting (SEAD) Course in 2015.

Elina presently handles patent and industrial design work including patent drafting, patent searches, providing freedom to operate and patentability opinions, and preparing, filing and prosecuting Malaysian and overseas patent and design applications. She handles inventions in the fields of biotechnology, food science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, biomedicine, pharmaceuticals and electronics.

Elina holds a BSc (Hons) Biotechnology degree from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and is fluent in English, Malay and Hokkien.
