They explain how to customize the interface (for example the language), how to upload files and our basic licensing policy. You don't need technical skills in order to contribute here. Be bold contributing here and assume good faith for the intentions of others. This is a wiki - it is really easy. More information is available at the Community Portal. You may ask questions at the Help desk, Village Pump or on IRC channel #wikimedia-commons. You can also contact an administrator on their talk page. If you have a specific copyright question, ask at Commons talk:Licensing. |

Swedish Course at the de.wikiversity
[edit]Hi PJ, on October 8 we started a Swedish language course in the German Wikiversity. I heard some of your soundfiles (like God jul och gott nytt år) and I hope you can help us. I'm not sure how to pronounce the words in lesson one (Greeting): "God morgon!", "Goddag!" etc. It would be very nice if you could help us with some soundfiles. We would be deeply grateful if you could provide records of some of the examples as a native speaker. Thanks in advance. --Frank Schulenburg 16:45, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hello Frank. I'll see if I do it, or if I let other people do it for me – but only people with access to German pro audio equipment, so it turns out sounding good :). –PJ 20:22, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
Image request
[edit]I noticed you have added an image of a PAL version SNES controller. Will you upload an image of a PAL SNES cartridge similar to the North American cartridge image that I just uploaded? I would like to use the two images side-by-side in Wikipedia's SNES article to illustrate the different shapes of the cartridges in different regions. Thanks. Anomie 01:13, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
- Hi. I can make a similar picture for the PAL cartridge next week. Black or white background? –PJ 22:00, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks! FYI, I posted the same request this morning with a few more details to the wider group at W:Talk:Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Anomie 22:49, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

File:Guitar 1.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

Your account will be renamed
[edit]Hello,
The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.
Unfortunately, your account clashes with another account also called PJ. To make sure that both of you can use all Wikimedia projects in future, we have reserved the name PJ~commonswiki that only you will have. If you like it, you don't have to do anything. If you do not like it, you can pick out a different name.
Your account will still work as before, and you will be credited for all your edits made so far, but you will have to use the new account name when you log in.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Yours,
Keegan Peterzell
