Missing information

Hi, I notice that you have uploaded a large number of images but never provide any information regarding your source for the photos or their copyright status. All photos on WikiCommons must have both or they will be deleted. Please pick an acceptable license from Commons:Copyright tags and also add a reliable source who can verify that your claim on copyright is correct. Images without either will be deleted. Foto de Margalef

Veo que alguien con IP de la Autónoma de Madrid ha puesto artículos que hacían mucha falta, como el de Margalef, en varias wikipedias. Para Commons tiene que saberse el propietario de los derechos y que quede constancia de que los cede con una licencia que autorice cualquier uso. Por favor, si la foto es tuya, ponlo e indica que la cedes. Si no lo es, seguro que puedes encontrar a alguien en vuestro entorno que ceda alguna propia. Es una pena que se quede sin retrato. For a start it's not royalty free -- this says "Not available for "royalty free" licensing." -- and it's certainly not GFDL! It's being deleted. Please be more careful and ACCURATE in what you write. pfctdayelise (translate?) 08:41, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Licencias falsificadas

Todas las fotos del manifestódromo (ya sean de su web o de flickr) tienen una licencia no comercial. ¿Por qué has omitido tal mención (que hace incompatibles dichas fotos con la licencia de commons)? --Ecemaml (talk to me/habla conmigo) 08:24, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Vale, no hay problema, pero hay que ser bastante cuidadoso. Ten en cuenta que esto produce un efecto en cadena nada despreciable. Hay que avisar al usuario, hablar con un bibliotecario para que borre las imágenes, ir a los artículos que prestos han incorporado las imágenes... Controversial info ???

Why you removed my linguistic map of Serbo-Croatian languages from several articles claiming that it contain "controversial info"? What controversial info you refer to? I stated my references in "References" section of the map page and most of them are available online, so you can check these sources by yourself. PANONIAN (talk) 10:02, 14 September 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, but I cannot agree that info in my linguistic map is controversial in any way - as you can see in references listed on map page, I used recent census data in several countries and map simply represent names of the languages that local people declared in census (that is why, for examle, part of Montenegrin Bosniaks spoke "Bosnian" and another part spoke "Bosniak" - it is what they declared in 2003 census). In another words, map represent names of the languages that people declared in census and map description clearly say that those are "ethno-politiocal variants of Serbo-Croatian language" - it does not claim that those are separate languages or "traditional" dialects of Serbo-Croatian language. As for your statement that "linguists do not consider the divisions I used inside the shtokavian dialect to be linguistically based, but politically", I completelly agree and my intentions with that map was exacly to present such political division of the language. That certainly does not contradict to other maps that represent traditional dialects since it is completelly different subject and I do not see why both language divisions (traditional dialecs and ethno-political variants) cannot be presented for readers. Info in my map, hence, is certainly not redundant because the names in which local people call their language would be interesting subject to be presented to readers. If I understand correctly, you object to the usage of word "variants" in the image description. No problem, with that, but please propose how we should formulate sentence "Areas where ethno-political variants of the Serbo-Croatian language or Serbo-Croatian diasystem are spoken by the majority or plurality of speakers" and I will change the map in accordance with your proposal. Well, your proposal missed an important description that map show "areas where these language variants are spoken by majority or plurality of speakers" and we should reflect that somehow. can we just keep the form of the original sentence but to replace word "variants" with something else (I am not sure can we replace it with word "divisions", like it is used in "administrative divisions" for example?) On the second thought, term "variants" as a description for Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, etc is also used in article about Serbo-Croatian in English Wikipedia, while in this map they are listed as separate languages: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Slavic_languages.png In fact, the opinion of some "national" linguists in former Yugoslavia that those are separate languages is well known, so I want that my map have description that will not be disputed by anybody in the future and that will reflect two things: 1. ethno-political division of the language, and 2. areas where such divisions/variants (what ever) are spoken by majority or plurality of speakers. is there a way that we can have this kind of description in the map? I corrected description of image File:Serbo croatian language2005.png so now it validly describes reality, but name of image is still misleading, image should be uploaded again under name like File:Serbo croatian diasystem2005.png and first image deleted. Answer

The naming of categories of common occupations (and pretty much any generic names) are in English, not in Spanish. A category for such purpose already exists: Category:Diplomats of Spain. Furthermore, the category "Category:Diplomats of Spain" would be redundant in any case given that Category:José Manuel Albares (the file is already categorised there) is already embedded in Category:Diplomats of Spain.--Up and Go (talk) 18:49, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
