Sadads (talk · contributions · deleted user contributions · recent activity · logs · block log · global contribs · CentralAuth) (Activity: Talk Commons DR)
- Scheduled to end: 21:27, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
I have been a long time contributor of Commons, advocate and organizer of campaigns and GLAM projects in my day job, and lately have been spending most of my volunteer editing hours on Commons (mostly working on SDC content, and stuff related to Uruguay where I live). I just crossed about 1/2 million edits. I have a passable understanding of Copyright law and the public domain, that would allow me to usefully close the deletion discussions on less complex cases. My track record of nominations is pretty good. I saw this recent discussion of backlogs, and took a look at Categories for Discussion as well, and think I could pitch in. I also try to help with cleaning up uploads from Photography campaigns, so would be able to help with removing obvious speedy deletion type stuff. I am an admin on English Wikipedia as well, and am familiar with the tools. I can't promise a huge amount of time using the tools, but its an easy enough set of workflows to start getting engaged in. - Weak support it seems this user is good to go. modern_primat ඞඞඞ ----TALK 21:36, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Support I don't seem to find any red flags currently and given the recent departure of over 5 admins from the project, we definitely need more admins who can volunteer to help clear backlogs. Sadads knows what they are doing. Regards, Aafi (talk) 03:48, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
- ""need more admins"" hmm, interesting 🤔. modern_primat ඞඞඞ ----TALK 09:04, 19 September 2024 (UTC)

- Support Although I suggest sticking to DRs where you are clearly familiar with the relevant laws and past consensus until your more experienced in the area. --Adamant1 (talk) 05:43, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
- Totally @Adamant1, like my use of the mop on enwiki I engage when I can, and try to avoid working on the more controversial parts of the backlogs as a wiki-life balance strategy. I think I would use the tools more here, because I have been finding my desire to edit gravitating towards commons, and the there is a large uncontroversial backlog worth chipping in on, Sadads (talk) 11:52, 19 September 2024 (UTC)

- Can we have a Babel box on your Commons user page about which languages you can read/write/speak ? Abzeronow (talk) 21:33, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Sure @Abzeronow! I keep my partially readable languages as 0 and 1 for interface switching, Wikidata, and such. Sadads (talk) 21:36, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies for being so late (we're overdue, apparently), but please consider archiving your talk page. Although 60 threads isn't all that long, it can still be quite cumbersome for people trying to contact you. Queen of Hearts (talk) 00:39, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
